For my final poster and applications, I aimed to create a playful and clean design inspired by the spinning wheel in The Game of Life. I found identifying the key messages in the research helpful in guiding what my potential concept direction would be.
After understanding the research of my chosen topic, I decided that a game-inspired concept would be the best way to display the data. The Game of Life wheel is easily recognisable to people of all ages and was a precedent for my design.
I wanted to bring the playful aspect back to the design and with peer feedback, I went back to my original concept development, cleaned up the line work and created a plastic-looking 2D wheel that was dynamic and worked much better in looking like a board game piece. With my poster design finalised, I was easily able to adapt my concept to create a strong digital screen and social media tile.
Overall, through my extensive development and refinement of my concept, I was able to create a design identity that best displays the data in a fun, playful and clean way. The identity created in my applications could be easily applied in a conference setting with audience eyes being caught by the use of bright fun colours and cohesiveness across applications.
