BridgeClimb

Brand Identity

Completion 2022

Project Supervisor:
Dot Georgoulas

The re-designed logo for BridgeClimb emphasises the connection between the brand and the traditional owners of Gadigal land. This is shown in the logo mark, with the circular forms representing a ‘meeting place’ in indigenous culture. The use of contrasting blue colours within the logo aims to communicate the harbour on which the Sydney Harbour Bridge sits, and subsequently, the views of the harbour climbers will experience. The simple bold typeface works well, not overshadowing the mark resulting in a balanced, clean logo.

Working in collaboration with indigenous artist Denis Golding, the pattern for BridgeClimb uses various ‘meeting place’ symbols to represent the Sydney Harbour Bridge as a place of meeting for all. The pattern plays a major part in the integration of Indigenous culture and history into the brand and having the pattern present across numerous applications exposes more of the world to Indigenous society.

Overall, I have created a clean and adaptable brand identity that can be easily applied to BridgeClimb’s various applications. This project had a longer design process than I was used to and taught me that you sometimes need to go through multiple design iterations before the most successful one is found.
