MIND UNWIND

Activation Campaign

Completion in 2023

Project Supervisor:
Kate Mansell

I chose to explore the topic of bedtime stress for my activation campaign. For many students, myself included, going to bed is one of the most anxiety-inducing parts of the day. Lying down and your brain running through all your tasks for tomorrow, upcoming assignments and social commitments. I sent out DRKs to students which would inform me about current sleep habits and what activity helped reduce stress before bed.

From my results, I found that 66% of participants aimed to get more sleep than achieved and that colouring and meditation helped relieve stress. These findings helped me decide on the need to promote the importance of sleep health to students and provide solutions to before-sleep stress.

This led to the creation of my mural design. Essentially a big colouring book page that would be on a Monash wall during O week for students to paint and relax. Accompanied by posters that inform the purpose of the mural and the need for good sleep, I hope for my audience to stop and think about their own sleep habits. The addition of a tote bag with branded material that will help with reducing your stress before sleep such as a colouring book and fresh bed sheets.

Overall, I believe I’ve achieved a successful campaign brand that is eye-catching to my target audience brings awareness to sleep health and reduces student anxiety.
